I shot this wedding of Joann and Mark two weeks ago. A friend of mine referred me to them. Thanks Kathy! The Filipino ceremony was in Oxon Hill, MD and the reception was held in my neck of the woods at the Waterford in Springfield, VA. Had a blast shooting this wedding and it was nice seeing a few familiar faces in the crowd.
Photo Note: I really like this picture because it shows emotions and motion. Joann saw her daughter come in the room in her beautiful dress. Then you have the bridesmaids helping Joann put her vail on. I dropped down almost waist level to get a different angle which resulted in a cleaner and angular background of the ceilings and walls.
Photo Note: I also like the angles and the contrast of this photo.
Photo Note: This is Joann and Mark as they walked back the isle as I back paddle. I love the light behind them which adds interest to the photo which almost gives the couple a crowning effect.
Photo Note: I took this photo at the Waterford after dinner. The Waterford has this huge fountain and thought I’d incorporate it in one of their shots. Now the reason why I like this photo is because of the shadow to the left of Joann and Mark. My assistant held the off-camera flash controlled by my Nikon master flash which created this beautiful effect.
Photo Note: First dances always create a personal and private moment between the couple. I like the warm background of this photo along with the bounced flash which created a softer lighting on the couple.
