Mao and I went to New England in late July. We visited Freeport, Portland and Yarmouth in Maine then we headed to the White Mountains in New Hampshire.
We visited Portland/Freeport Maine last year. We wanted to revisit a little lobster shack, Day’s Seafood Takeout, we discovered off the road in Freeport. We had several meals here during our visit in Maine.

The photo below is a photograph of the Cape Elizabeth lighthouse.

Smaller lighthouses in Cape Elizabeth.

This photograph was taken at the Popham State Park. We had dinner at Spinneys which was located next to Popham State Park. We were lucky that Mao’s friend Anna recommended the restaurant because it’s definitely one of those off-the-beaten path type of restaurants. We had a shore dinner with clam chowder, steamed mussels, lobster and corn and everything was delicious.

After we were shopped out at the outlets in Freeport, we drove two hours to the west to the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

As we checked in our hotel, a storm was passing through. The photograph below was taken on interstate I93 en route to Littleton, NH.

This was taken at Main Street in Littleton, NH.

We stayed in a hotel in Lincoln, NH. It has a nice strip of restaurants and shops. Mao and I frequented the Lahout’s Outfitter across the street from our hotel for outdoor gear since we came unprepared.
As we headed back into town from Littleton, we stopped by this ice cream shop.

Our time in the White Mountains was limited with only one full day. We wanted to do two activities – biking and the zip line at Wild Mountain. We signed up for a full day biking tour with Loon. They dropped us off at Echo Lake (below).
The photograph below was taken from Artists Bluff which was accessible from a 15min hike from our drop-off point. The bike ride was roughly about 14 miles back to Loon and was 80% downgrade.

After we completed our bike ride, we had a quick lunch and headed out for another hike. The sales associate from Lahout’s Outfitters recommended that we go to Bald Mountain for the sunset. The photographs below were taken at the peak of Bald Mountain with breathtaking views.
