ALISHA + MARK | WASHINGTON, DC | 10.10.2009 {day 1}

This is one of the weddings I’ve been looking forward to shooting this fall where two cultures become one. Alisha is Indian and Mark is Jewish. This is day 1 of a two-day wedding weekend. The reception was held at the Dumbarton House in Washington, DC. They had a very nice mandap, a four-pole canopy for Hindu ceremonies. It was bright and bold and full of details. It housed henna artists giving the reception guests complimentary henna tattoos. Woodlands Catering provided the delicious vegetarian dishes served. And Magic Mike absolutely rocked the dance floor. I love it when everyone is on the dancefloor having a good time.

The other reason, working with Trisha Cranor at Working Brides. She’s just fantastic! Best of all, we’ll be neighbors soon.
