SUYIN + JEFF | WASHINGTON, DC | 11.14.2009

We booked Suyin + Jeff after a couple of web meetings and emails. They both live in NYC and they travel quite a bit, so we didn’t get to meet them in person prior to the event. Suyin got ready at the Fairmont Hotel and Jeff across the street at the Westin Grand. What was a huge coincidence was that they both had the same room number (839). Out of all the years I’ve been shooting weddings, that has never happened.

The ceremony was at the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church. President Lincoln regularly worshipped here during the civil war. The reception was held at the Corcoran Gallery of Art. They just recently opened the venue to weddings after a couple of years. It’s a beautiful place to hold a wedding or corporate event. You have to check-out the unique centerpieces by Amaryllis. Talking about thinking outside the box.

And of course, the wedding was seamlessly coordinated by the renowned Vicky Johnson of Holy Matrimony.

Prep Venues: Fairmont Hotel & Westin Grand | Ceremony Venue: New York Avenue Presbytarian Church | Reception Venue: Corcoran Gallery of Art | Catering: Occasions Catering | Florist: Amaryllis | Lighting: Frost | Video: Blue Sky | Band: Kaleidoscope | Coordinator: Holy Matrimony | Cake: Happy Eatery

Strobist love for the win! I really like the multiple angles on the ceremony, and the dad(?) seeing the bride — what a moment.
