About Me

Fifteen years ago for a high school basic photography class, I purchased my first 35mm camera, a Pentax K1000, and quickly fell in love with the art of photography. My camera quickly became a creative extension of me. From the very beginning, I learned that every image is distinctive, because every photographer sees the picture differently through his individual perspective behind the lens. I believe that my unique perspective allows me to create the thoughtful, artistic and candid images and to successfully portray the emotions, moods and meanings of the subject(s) in my pictures. Photography allows me to exercise my imagination and individuality to create an image that tells a meaningful story. That is why I love photography.

While building my knowledge and experience in photography, I expanded my artistic horizon by studying graphic arts at the Corcoran School of Arts in Washington, DC. Although photography remained a hobby, graphic arts and information technology (IT) eventually became my career. I now own an award-winning IT consulting firm recognized in the Washington, DC area.

To my advantage, I’m able to apply the skills and knowledge I have acquired in graphic design (such as applying color and design theories and using angles and perspective to stimulate emotions through art) and in business (especially attention to minor details and fine customer service) to my photography. Today, my passion and expertise in photography, graphic arts, technology and entrepreneurship have all merged into BaltazarFotos, my photography studio.
