Mao and I are extremely excited to announce the birth of our first born. Her name is Caroline Rose Baltazar. We’ll be calling her Carrie.
First, I’d like to say that I’m very proud of my wife for planning to deliver naturally and that she painfully did. She labored for three days starting on New Year’s Day and delivered our little bundle of joy on January 4th. We patiently waited and labored at home until the very last minute and rushed to the hospital at 6am and Carrie was born at 6:20am. She was a breech baby but both mom and baby persevered and delivered successfully.
It was an amazing and life-altering experience. I now have two loves of my life and I can’t be happier to have such a caring and patient wife and a beautiful daughter. I love you both!
BTW, if you’re not too familiar with natural birth, see the documentary by Ricky Lake “The Business of Being Born“. It explains why there’s an increase in cesarean deliveries in this country due to medical interventions.
